Last time I wrote we were actually in Nebraska starting our long journey in that state. Just FYI....
Anyways we switched off drivers last night to give Rex a break. We decided that it would be better if I woke up early to drive in the morning to take over from Rex and that Megan would drive some of the night. So Megan began her 6 or 7 hours of driving.... Rex maybe slept for an hour, enough to get him through the night I guess (well that and a few energy drinks to keep him awake :). While Megan was driving we were playing the movie game and a possum or some small creature ran in front of the RV.... a few screams later I think we missed him somehow (without swerving) but we had a confused Melissa and Rex starring at us. he he he....
At about 3 am we switched to Rex and Melissa in the front. While Megan and I slept Rex said they had a close call with a deer, he said a little divine intervention helped with missing it (again without swerving). Rex drove through the night with Melissa talking to him most of the time and keeping him awake (that and some energy drinks). Then I woke up and once we got through St. Louis I took over... to continue on our long journey.... Rex got to sleep maybe another hour or so while we got closer and closer to their house. Along the last strech we found out that our niece will be born in less than 24 hours! Wahoo!
We arrived at Kira and Rex's at about 2pm her time, where we leveled the RV, extended the side, and quickly got out the carpet so that we could close it up and put it in the driveway because I guess that you can not park RVs on the street on base, even for a little while... something against housing rules.
Anyhow, since we got here we cleaned up the RV a bit and went to get the last of our groceries... Now we have to figure out how to get them all in the RV! Fun for us! Talk to you all later...
P.S. I will try to get pictures... we took some along the road but I have to download them to the computer.
