typo
Sorry about the typo's below! There is no picture of the Jefferson.. with Rex reading in the corner! OOPS
day... i don't know
So we headed toward the pointing thing… (see above)
We got there & took some pictures!! After that we headed across the street to the WWII memorial.
Took some more pictures.. then made way to the WHITE HOUSE! Where we took some pictures!
After that we made our way towards HONEST ABE. The Lincoln monument.. walked up a bunch of stairs & TOOK pictures! (& read the stuff on the wall… took a break from the HUMID HOTNESS that consumed us all!
After that… still NO MAP! We wandered until we found the FDR monument.. were we FOUND A MAP!!!!!! & Then took pictures! Fun times!
See Rex in the bottom right corner! (he is reading) From here Rex & Melissa Took off for the Train to get to the car to get Melissa to the Airport… about 10minutes later. I Realize that I (KIRA) have the keys to the rental car… OOPS! Luckily Rex had not got on the train yet & he was able to RUN back to us & get the keys! They made it to the airport in time & dropped Melissa off.. so we could later find out her flight was delayed & she missed her connection … so she spent the night in the airport. – Now back to the fun! Candice, megan & I began our search for food! We went to the Smithsonian- saw some art stuff.. and hung out ther
It was starting to cool off.. so we wandered around and checked it out.. very thought provoking place!.. We couldn’t stay long.. because we had to get the rental back by 730 & we had a bit of a drive ahead of us.
So we found the RV & the rental place & got back on the road. NEXT stop… MYRTLE BEACH!!! We will take pictures I am sure!!
Love ya,
kira

Day 6/7/8
Sorry I have been such a slacker... but we have been having way to0 much FUN it has been exhausting! (:
Day 6
We left our camp ground near Niagara Falls and started our travels. We made a quick stop in Palmyra to check out the sacred grove and then got on the road again I just can't wait to get on the road again.... oh sorry.... and headed toward our campsite in New Jersey for our travels in New York.... We arrived that night and decided to stay in and play games!

Day 7
We got up to start our day in New York City! Megan didn't feel well so she stayed behind and slept in hope of feeling better later. The rest of us went into the city taking the New Jersey "Path" Subway and emerged at Ground Zero. We walked around and checked it out and took pictures... We then decided to walk some of the Brooklyn Bridge and check it out before we had to go to the place to get 1/2 price tickets for a Broadway show. We called Megan to see if she felt better. She did, so we decided since we still had to wait for over an hour to even get the tickets someone could go back and get her. Rex headed back and picked her up. Then the place opened up and we went to get our tickets... we decided on Chicago with Joey Lawrence playing the main guy. We had some time to kill so we thought it would be cool to go to the Empire State Building... but it was cloudy and looking like it was about to rain so we decided to not go up and go shopping and find dinner. We got to the play and we all were a little bit tired from all the fun we have been having! But it was really good, the girl playing Roxy stole the show!

Day 8 (holy crap we are over 1/2 way thru!)
Sleepily we made our way to the Ferry to go to the Statue of Liberty. We made it and walked around took some pictures, but we didn't have enough time to go up to the part they let you, so we headed back to the RV place and got ready to head out because we have to get to the car rental place in D.C. by 3. So right now we are on the road again... that is so strange because it's not like we are on a road trip or anything... oh wait we are... weird. :)

oh and....
HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!

Day 4/5
Day 4 we had a lot of driving and arrived in our campground near Niagara Falls. We went and swam and played in Lake Ontario. It was a bit cold... but way awesome! Melissa, Candice, and Rex feel in the mud on our way back to the camp site.... he he he... on our way to our site we played a little frisbee. Then went back and tried to get the satellite to work, but we couldn't get enough strength before we decided it was to late and went to bed after watching a little tv through the antenna.

Day 5 We decided to slow down a bit and have a slow morning. We had breakfast and played horseshoes while we waited for lunch. We also got the RV ready to go to Niagara Falls because we had free parking once we got there. But most of all we have had a wet, fun day in Niagara Falls! We did the Maid of the Mist where we got a little bit wet, then we walked around, took the trolley, went "underground" in the Musuem, went their little Aquarium, went to Hard Rock Cafe in Canada!, then we went to the Cave of the Winds! (which takes you right up to part of the falls so we got soaked!)

Day 3
It has been a busy day of F U N! Happy Birthday to Megan! and Congratulations to Tiffany and Anthony to their new arrival! 7 lbs 9 ounces! Welcome to the world Jocelyn!
This morning we had to drive a few more hours to get to the themepark Cedar Point in Ohio. (not Oklahoma which for some reason I want to keep singing.) Once there we rode on some of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world! We got lots of pictures we will have to post them later though.... I added a few to earlier posts but it took a very long time so I decided I would try to wait to see if I find a place with a better signal so they will load faster (right now it takes like 5 minutes per picture.) The rides were really fun... Rex screamed so much that he has almost lost his voice (he is pretty horse).... he he. Right now we are finishing off celebrating Megans birthday playing guitar hero... fun fun. I am going to go... it is almost my turn..... Talk to you guys later!
Here is one pic.... it is one of the rides we took it was called MaxAir.... WAY FUN!

Day 2
Last time I wrote we were actually in Nebraska starting our long journey in that state. Just FYI....
Anyways we switched off drivers last night to give Rex a break. We decided that it would be better if I woke up early to drive in the morning to take over from Rex and that Megan would drive some of the night. So Megan began her 6 or 7 hours of driving.... Rex maybe slept for an hour, enough to get him through the night I guess (well that and a few energy drinks to keep him awake :). While Megan was driving we were playing the movie game and a possum or some small creature ran in front of the RV.... a few screams later I think we missed him somehow (without swerving) but we had a confused Melissa and Rex starring at us. he he he....
At about 3 am we switched to Rex and Melissa in the front. While Megan and I slept Rex said they had a close call with a deer, he said a little divine intervention helped with missing it (again without swerving). Rex drove through the night with Melissa talking to him most of the time and keeping him awake (that and some energy drinks). Then I woke up and once we got through St. Louis I took over... to continue on our long journey.... Rex got to sleep maybe another hour or so while we got closer and closer to their house. Along the last strech we found out that our niece will be born in less than 24 hours! Wahoo!
We arrived at Kira and Rex's at about 2pm her time, where we leveled the RV, extended the side, and quickly got out the carpet so that we could close it up and put it in the driveway because I guess that you can not park RVs on the street on base, even for a little while... something against housing rules.
Anyhow, since we got here we cleaned up the RV a bit and went to get the last of our groceries... Now we have to figure out how to get them all in the RV! Fun for us! Talk to you all later...
P.S. I will try to get pictures... we took some along the road but I have to download them to the computer.

Day 1
The Road Trip has begun! We have been on the road now for 8 hours (we left our house at about 9:30 am Utah time!) There has been a lot of driving, music, sleeping, and falling all over the place! It is interesting to climb over the 5 or so rolls of carpet in the middle the RV while trying to either get something out of the fridge or find something in the back.... They have officially blocked the bathroom which I guess is a good thing because then we won't be inclined to use it! We have only had one stop which was a quick one at a rest stop. We have yet to need gas but we may possibly stop for some soon..... The good thing though is we are almost out of Wyoming! (the second longest stretch of our journey... the longest being Nebraska which we are about to enter.... fun for us!)
